Community Support Mission Statement:

Fostering Self Sufficiency through Empowerment, Education & Advocacy

The Community Support Services Division is a major contributor in OlyCAP’s service to those in need in our communities.   Though Emergency Services and Energy Assistance are what most people associate with us when they are looking for help, this division also oversees:

« Three Community Centers across the peninsula that offer a warm, inviting gathering place for seniors and others.

« The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) where up to 500 volunteers help out with a myriad of organizations around the peninsula.

« A van pool for transportation to and from work on the west end ( Job Lift ).

Discretionary dollars used to provide assistance for all basic needs (i.e., assistance with rent, utilities, energy, prescriptions, gas, public transportation, etc.) for low-income households.  Funding comes from generous community members donating to the Peninsula Daily News in response to success stories about customers that received assistance from the Home Fund throughout the year.  Serves Clallam and Jefferson counties.
